The Mediation Society Announces Fresh Round of Assessment for Mediation Masterclass Participants
26 June 2026; Reported by Fathima Nourin and Noel Saji

The Professional Development Division of The Mediation Society has announced the next round of assessments for participants who have successfully completed its Mediation Masterclass programme and hold a Certificate of Participation.
The assessment process comprises two stages: a Tier 1 Written Assessment, scheduled for 4 July 2026 at Maharaja's College, Ernakulam, and a Tier 2 Oral Assessment (Viva Voce), to be conducted online via Zoom from 6 July 2026 onwards.
Candidates who successfully complete both the written and oral assessments will be awarded the Mediation Masterclass Assessed Certificate, recognising a higher level of competence in mediation. Successful completion of the assessment will also make participants eligible to apply for future editions of the Mediation Masterclass Professional (MM Professional) programme. Those who complete the assessment may also become eligible to apply for Full Membership of The Mediation Society, subject to the Society's Rules and membership criteria.
The written assessment is open to first-time candidates as well as participants seeking to reappear for questions they have not previously cleared. The viva is open to candidates who have already passed the written assessment or who have registered for the current written assessment.
An online orientation session for registered candidates will be held on 28 June 2026 to familiarise participants with the assessment format, examination requirements and administrative procedures.
The Mediation Masterclass is one of The Mediation Society's flagship capacity-building programmes, designed to equip lawyers and other professionals with a comprehensive understanding of mediation theory and practice. The assessment process provides participants with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and practical understanding through a structured evaluation.
