Sixth Edition of Mediation Masterclass to Commence at Sree Narayana Law College

The sixth edition of the Mediation Masterclass, a flagship training programme of The Mediation Society, will commence on 15 May 2026 at Sree Narayana Law College, Poothotta (SNLC). The programme is being jointly organised by The Mediation Society and SNLC.

Designed as an intensive seven-day Faculty Development Programme, the Mediation Masterclass will be conducted over seven full days at the SNLC campus. The programme is pitched at the foundational and intermediate levels and is intended exclusively for law teachers and selected postgraduate law students of SNLC.

The programme seeks to strengthen mediation and negotiation capacity within legal education by equipping participants with a structured understanding of mediation theory, law, and practice. The curriculum will cover the context and idea of mediation, the legal framework governing mediation, mediation agreements, mediated settlement agreements, and the mediation process.

Adopting a highly interactive learning model, the programme will include lectures, workshops, group discussions, simulations, and mini mediation competitions, enabling participants to develop both conceptual clarity and practical skills.

The faculty for the programme will be led by Adv Rajesh C. Muttath, Course Director and Principal Instructor of the Mediation Masterclass. Guest faculty members include Adv Sreelal Warriar, Senior MCPC Trainer; Dr Balakrishnan K, Professor at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies; and Adv Teena Cherian, Mediator at the Kerala State Mediation and Conciliation Centre. The workshop components of the programme will be facilitated by Adv Radhakrishnan S, Adv Vivek AV, Adv Ameena Rafeek, Adv Pooja Venkat, and Adv Joel Kenneth Johnson.

As part of the programme, participants will undergo an assessment, and those who meet the prescribed requirements will be awarded Assessed Certificates by The Mediation Society.

The Mediation Masterclass has steadily evolved into a specialised capacity-building initiative that promotes mediation education and strengthens consensual dispute-resolution competencies among legal professionals, academics, and students.

The Mediation Masterclass is a comprehensive, three-tiered, 100-hour, hands-on training programme in mediation designed to develop competent mediation professionals. Through the programme, participants are trained in all major aspects of mediation and equipped to take on one or more roles within the mediation ecosystem, including mediator, mediation advocate, teacher or coach, or commentator.
